AF Family Town Hall Meetings 7/23. WE NEED YOUR INPUT!!

Click the link to RSVP

Dear AF NY Families!

We hope this note finds you well and that you and your family are enjoying the summer sun. Although the school year ended only a few weeks ago, we miss our scholars dearly and can’t wait to see them for the start of the 20-21 school year!

Over the last several weeks, governors across the country have made critical decisions about the reopening of school for the 20-21 school year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Our state released its guidance recently and all school districts are thoughtfully developing their plans for the upcoming school year. We have spent the last several months learning; we’ve talked to scholars, families, and staff to learn about what did—and did not—work about our spring  remote learning model and what school should look like in the fall. We have continued to monitor reports from public health experts and local authorities. And, we have studied what school districts across the country and the world have done in order to best inform our reopening plan to ensure maximum safety for our students and staff.

Based on this learning, we created preliminary thinking for what next year will look like, including both health and safety measures and plans for how we’ll create a nurturing and engaging core program for our scholars. Since our plans for next year will directly impact you and your child and we believe deeply in partnering with families, we want to create an opportunity to get your feedback and input on them.

To gather your input, we would love to invite you to join us for optional town hall meetings that we’ll hold this week. The session times are::

  • Thursday, July 23rd 8:00-9:00 AM
  • Thursday, July 23rd 1:00-2:00 PM
  • Thursday, July 23rd 5:30-6:30 PM

To attend one of these meetings, please complete this short form (it takes 30 seconds!) and we’ll send you an invite!

We look forward to partnering with you during this week’s town halls to navigate these challenging times and support all of our scholars through the 20-21 school year.
